Screeches, screams, and explosions could all be heard radiating from the Rondileau Campus Center Ballroom last Wednesday, but for good reason. Bridgewater State College was celebrating its second annual Campus MovieFest (CMF).
Before this final screening of the movies, students were given the challenge to prepare a film in a week's time. They had to choose actors, write scripts, scope out locations, props, and shoot the footage. The equipment provided by CMF included editing software, camcorders, AT&T phones, microphones and other accessories to help with production.
On Wednesday, April 22 members of the BSC community walked the red carpet to view the results of this collaborative event. All the movies reviewed were chosen by a diverse panel of students and faculty prior to the event.
In total, 16 movies were showcased by the co-hosts of the event, Kenny Minks of SGA and Emily Tilbe of Program Committee. Awards were given to four films.
For Best Drama the award went to the film, "Drift." Best Comedy went to the filmmakers of "No Good Deed." Best Picture was awarded to "Scrabble: The Motion Picture." The winners in the category of Viewer's Choice Award, "The Super Economy," will also go up against schools from around the region at the Northeastern Regional Finale in New York City during the weekend of May 2.
All schools will have the chance to move on to the International Grand Finale at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles at the end of June.

This looks like some great films were shown. I would have loved to be there and see them.
