Fall. The leaves begin to change. The days become shorter. The temperature starts to drop. And shows return to TV.

The beginning of this month kicked off the fall lineup which will continue into October. With the return of such favorites as "Grey's Anatomy" and "Heroes", there will also be some new faces added to the timeslots this season.

"My Own Worst Enemy" premieres October 13th at 10 p.m. on NBC. The series follows polar opposites Henry and Edward. Henry is a middle-class family man living in suburbia with his wife, kids, and minivan. Edward, on the other hand, is a multi-lingual operative who is trained to kill. What could these two have in common? They're the same person. Both action-packed and interesting, this series looks like it's worth checking out.

ABC's much anticipated "The Ex-List" starts Friday, October 3rd at 9 p.m. The show follows Bella Bloom (Elizabeth Reaser) as she searches for Mr. Right after consulting with a psychic. The catch: her future husband to be is one of her ex-boyfriends. The story line seems amusing enough to initially catch viewers' attention, but could prove monotonous after a while; hopefully, the show won't end up on an ex list of its own.

"The Mentalist" is a new drama on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS. Simon Baker stars as an individual consultant to the California Bureau of Investigation where he puts his people reading skills to good use to solve murders. His reason: his family was murdered by a serial killer, and he hopes by solving murders, he will find the person who killed them. The show sounds interesting enough, but only viewers will tell if the show is worth tuning into.

Fans of comedy should check out "Kath and Kim" Thursday nights on NBC starting October 9th. The show is about Kath (Molly Shannon) whose life gets turned upside down when her daughter (Selma Blair) moves back in, bringing her baggage with her. As an adaptation of the Australian sitcom, producers are no doubt hoping the show will follow the success of Britain's "The Office". While the show may prove to be a success over here, it may be too silly to keep audiences coming back.

My pick is Fox's new sci-fi show "Fringe", airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. The show's premise is very similar to that of "The X-Files", with federal agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) investigating an outbreak of paranormal events known as the Pattern. She does this alongside the genius son (Joshua Jackson) of a modern day Dr. Frankenstein, who has been locked up in a mental institution for his experiments on humans. The show has already started and the ninety minute pilot episode is available online. Although the episode starts out slow in the beginning, by the end, I was hooked.

Past shows will also be returning, but with new faces. Along with "90210", "Knight Rider" will be returning with a reinvented look. The '80s iconic classic will premiere Wednesday, September 24th at 8 p.m. on NBC. When the two hour TV movie aired, "Knight Rider" was seen by 12.7 million viewers, the best numbers for a TV movie since "Their Eyes Were Watching God" back in 2005, according to EW.com.

Yet all good things must come to an end. This fifteenth season of the hit medical drama, "ER" will mark its final season. The series first aired on September 19, 1994 and follows the doctors of Chicago's fictional County General Hospital's emergency room. As one of television's longest running medical dramas, the show will no doubt be missed by many.

With 27 new shows along with 65 returning shows, this season offers something for everyone to choose from. The only thing left is to decide what to watch.
