The intramural waffle ball league concluded Wednesday, April 23 with the final games of the season being played, like always, in the Tinsley center.
Team Lemon Party took first place honors with a solid record of 10 wins and one loss while also registering two ties. Despite losing their first game of the season to the Black Knights, Lemon Party finished very strong going the rest of the season without a loss and going 4-0 down the stretch to earn the first place nod.
Lemon Party's signature offensive game of the season was a 21-6 pounding of team Scared Hitless. One major factor in the teams success was its pitching, lemon party only gave up just 14 runs in 12 games (one was a forfeit) but the teams success is really due to its balance, the team was consistent offensively which can bee seen in their record.
Finishing in second was Snipe City who finished with a record of 8-2-3 inching just percentage points ahead of the Black Knights who finished the season with a record of 8-2-2. Snipe City had impressive pitching that topped even Lemon Party allowing only 11 runs in the 13 game season which is undoubtedly the reason they were able to take second place honors. The rest of the league rounded out with Pinkus' Penguins finishing at 6-6-1,
Scared Hitless at 4-9 just beating out Pilot's Lounge at 3-10 which is two wins more than its total in last years league for the fifth place finish. Finishing in last with a record of 0-9 were the Mighty Mighty Wombats, a team whose captain, Stephen Fortin, defected from Scared Hitless to form his own team one game into the season, thus the Wombats only played nine games instead of the normal 13 game schedule.
It was a fun, quick season for all who participated and a good effort by all teams involved.
