Its time for me to do what?

The semester is coming to a close, finals are upon us. The weather seems to be behaving, with the amount of nice days outnumbering the not so nice ones. I see the end in sight, a summer of only working, not balancing both a full time student and a full time work schedule. I am getting ready to pick my class for my final year at BSC, and I realized I only have seven classes left before I graduate. One more year stands between me, and my degree.

So, in my excitement, I was sitting at my parent's house for dinner. They invited me and my siblings over, since we hadn't seen them in a few weeks. We had a lovely time, laughing, eating, and playing with my niece and nephew. We even shared old stories, and teased my mom about some of her quirks while raising us. In our jolly good time I decided to mention my upcoming graduation.

My mom was so excited, since I have struggled financially with school for quite some time. She exclaimed that she wanted to throw me the biggest party, and everyone better attend. As she gushed on and on about all the things she was planning, I pretended to listen as I always do with my mom. I then made the fatal mistake of mentioning that I wanted to consider Grad school. My mom was shocked into silence. She stared at me, in utter and complete amazement as if I had started speaking in tongues. Then, she cocked her head sideways, and spit out the term "grad school" as if was the dirtiest thing she had ever had to speak.

I responded with obvious confusion, and confirmed that I had in fact said Grad school, to further my education and hopefully land a decent job. She shook her head slowly at first, then sped up and said something that I honestly had never ever expected, "BUT WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET MARRIED? WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN? HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY EXPECT TO RAISE A FAMILY WITH A FANCY JOB, OR IF YOU SPEND ANY MORE TIME IN SCHOOL?" As she fired these questions at me, it was my turn to shake my head in disbelief. I confessed to her that I hadn't thought too far ahead, and wasn't so worried about it.

The hardest part about finals is that I get distracted by all the beautiful girls we have here at BSC, ladies stop looking so good please.
