Connect Card continues to grow

Carrying readily available cash on a day-to-day basis throughout any college campus can become a tedious task at times. The Connect Card offices at Bridgewater State College are looking to make the purchasing of campus-wide goods a little easier.
The BSC connect card serves many purposes, as it can be used for all meal plans, as a key to your dorm, as a library/debit card, and even as a valid form of identification for admission to all campus events, etc.
"The main reason for always having your connect card on you at all times would be for the convenience," said Director of Administrative Support Services Margarida Vieira. "It's your ID, debit card, meal plan provider, and key all rolled into one."
If a BSC student were interested in using the Connect Card as a debit card, he or she would have the option of purchasing Flex Dollars to put towards his or her user accounts.
Flex Dollars carry over from year to year, and balances greater than $20.00 are refundable upon graduation or withdrawal from Bridgewater State College. Cash to card machines are also available all throughout the campus.
The BSC Connect Card is now also being accepted at all soda/snack vending machines, as well as all washers and dryers campus-wide Public copiers and stamps may also be purchased through the
"Don't walk around campus without it," said Vieira. "It gets more popular as years go by, part of that is because of the accessibility it has."
There are some basic rules to follow once your card has been obtained. Do not give your card to anyone or leave your card anywhere as collateral.
Many local businesses and vendors outside of the greater BSC campus also accept the Connect Card. Burger King, D'Angelo's, Friendly's, Papa Gino's and CVS Pharmacy are just some of these businesses.
Whenever a student adds $100 to his or her Connect Card throughout the entire month of October, he or she will automatically be entered into a campus-wide drawing, which will feature prizes.
"It's a good way to get the campus community involved in something," said Vieira.
