Commuters need more places to meet and greet

When I first started my Bridgewater State College experience, there was only one place to meet up with others if you were a commuter: the commuter caf. We, commuters, would time our classes to coincide with a free period midday to enjoy lunch together, and catch up on things.

The passing of Celtics' legend Arnold "Red" Auerbach goes far beyond the realm of sports. Red was a revolutionary in both basketball and civil rights. Auerbach, born on September 20, 1917, in Brooklyn, New York, coached the legendary Boston Celtics from 1950 - 1966, which captured eight consecutive NBA Championships and nine overall, while being the general manager for 11.

The youth today are different from the college student or high school student in our parent's generation. We are, on the whole, an extremely uncultured generation. Very rarely do students go into Boston simply to visit the Museum of Fine Arts or the Science Museum on a Saturday afternoon.

Next week's gubernatorial election is upon us, but the question I pose is how many of you honestly know the standpoints of the various candidates? Shamefully, I am one of the many who have just a basic idea of who the candidates for governor are. I know that I should be more active in my understanding of the candidates and their various policies; after all, one of them will be Governor of Massachusetts soon.

Skin cancer, wrinkles, and cataracts. You would think that these words would be enough to scare any sensible human being away from any activity associated with such unpleasant conditions. In fact, half of teenagers aged thirteen to nineteen have tried ultra-violet tanning beds before, and the numbers of older people using them is increasing as well.
