To the Fox Broadcasting Company: I am proud of you for finally learning from your mistakes. Last month, Fox decided that even though the ratings were low, they would order a full season for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles". The show, which is based off of James Cameron's popular "Terminator" movies, has been on the air for about a year now.

Only at a UConn men's basketball game will you hear someone yell to the referee, "Why don't you get on your knees and blow the game, ref!"
Guilty. I opened six boxes of Cookie Crisp in North dining hall just to get the free "Madagascar" toys.
To everyone who saw me fall down the stairs in Arjona: Thanks for taking the time to stop and laugh.

Last Friday, the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority board approved several toll hikes that would drastically increase tolls west of Route 128 along the Mass Pike. This past Saturday, the MBTA put its scheduled $2 increase in station parking fees into effect. What impact might these moves have on schools like Suffolk - primarily a commuter school, located in the heart of Boston?

11/18/08 - To the Cigar,
With the defeat of America on Nov. 4, a knife was inserted into each of our hearts. But even during this time of arid depression and trepidation, as we hold our breath before James Buchanan loses his longstanding place as the worst of all U.

11/18/08 - For those University of Rhode Island students who have said "goodbye" to their dormitory days and "hello" to living off-campus, it comes as no surprise that living Down the Line brings a whole new set of responsibilities.
Suddenly you've got cable and electricity bills to pay, more square feet to clean, not to mention the excitement - or misfortune, as some see it - of cooking your own meals.

Brown has a lot on its plate right now. Simply surviving the economic crisis is a challenge, but the University signed up for a huge financial aid commitment just a few months ago.

The Issue: FSU fans extend kindness to BC travelers
What we think: Warm welcome part of good sportsmanship
As Florida Staters showed many Eagles fans on the road this weekend, Southern hospitality is about more than hearty pecan pies and "y'all"s steeped in thick accents. It's about opening up your tailgate to travelers, offering them food, drink, and friendly conversation, bringing them into "enemy territory" and showing them that all rivalry need not be hostile.

My heart aches for this community. I've heard my fair share of opinions on this campus in response to recent events, and I can't believe how narrow-minded, inconsiderate, and even disrespectful some of them have been. What's even more unfortunate is that we are not the only institution that is experiencing these growing pains.

A diamond to Professor of Computer Science Michael Black, whose new program can discern the shape of a person’s body based on his or her clothes. With Sex Power God this weekend, though, it would have been more helpful to design a program that could imagine all those naked people wearing more threads.

During his presidential campaign, Barack Obama '91 promised that his administration would not do much hiring from the Ivy League. Yet it was no surprise to learn that the Obama transition team would be composed primarily of Harvard academics and alumni - and was poised to hire many more of them.

Lately, Emerson College has become a robust marketplace of ideas, even beyond ruminations about the presidential election. Two noxious ideas have been pushed by Emersonians, and the college's community has rightly judged both to be as worthless as so many subprime mortgage loans.

I know what you're thinking and I know your reaction when I mention another commentary about Facebook. But before you roll your eyes and log back into your account, consider this: if you have 1,800 friends, why are you alone?
I realize it is presumptuous of me to ignorantly predict your reaction to Facebook, or assume that you are by yourself.

Walking through the Mods on Saturday before the football game, I heard several Boston College students address a Notre Dame fan by shouting, "Hey, Notre Dame sucks, you faggot!" I responded swiftly with a raised voice, deriding the BC students for their use of a homophobic slur and their total lack of respect toward a guest to our campus.
